Let’s face it, the economy is terrible right now and people need help with their finances. Some turn to their parents for advice, others Google their problems and follow the answers bloggers provide.
Personal Finance will always be near the top of the most profitable blog niches. Why? Because it is related to money. Anything related to money will do well. Ad companies will pay more to get their ads on websites that are centered around money, affiliate programs are lucrative, and if you are a trusted source info products could do VERY well.
So if Personal Finance is a profitable niche and you can do very well in the niche, what’s wrong with it? Well, lots of people have started a personal finance blog. Which means lots of competition, which isn’t always a bad thing. But in this case, it is.
The biggest pros for the Personal Finance niche are, like I mentioned above, ad companies paying high prices to promote on your blog and some very lucrative affiliate opportunities – Acorns, Freshbooks, and Trim being a few of the better ones.
The cons for the Personal Finance niche are what you would expect from a profitable niche. First, it is EXTREMELY competitive. What would normally take 3 to 6 months to work your way onto the SERP’s (Search Engine Results Page) would take close to a year, if not longer, in this niche. Another con is that this niche falls into the Your Money Your Life, or YMYL. These niches are looked at a little harder since these niches can, if wrong advice is given, negatively impact someone.
A few sub-niches for the Personal Finance niche include: Budgeting, Manageing Debt, Credit Cards, Investments, and Retirement.
Health and Fitness
Let’s be honest, we’ve all looked up “how to lose five pounds in a week” at some point. All the results you see are from the Health and Fitness niche.
When it comes to your body, Google is only looking for answers from licensed medical professionals. Google is looking for authoritative websites with licensed medical professionals for a quick unofficial diagnosis, which usually leaves me terrified that my stomach ache is the beginning of something much worse. So unless you are licensed medical professional who happens to be blogging on the side, I would steer clear of that part of the Health and Fitness niche.
Another area of the Health and Fitness niche that is going to be hard to break into will be physical training. Similar to the licensed medical professionals, athletic trainers have a strangle hold on this area. What’s more, if they have some clout attached to their name, like “Former Athletic Trainer for the Miami Dolphins,” they will likely rise to the top of the niche.
The major areas of Health and Fitness may be taken, but there are sub-niches you can dive into. If you are truly interested in this niche, find a sub-niche you are passionate about and start there.
Health and Fitness is easily one of the most profitable blog niches on the internet, which is no surprise. The bloggers in this niche has the expertise and experience to create info products that work and can charge a decent amount of money for their knowledge.
The biggest pro for the Health and Fitness niche is the profitability. Between info products and selling your services, the income potential is through the roof. There is also the possibility to turn the blog posts into YouTube videos, creating another source of traffic and revenue.
The cons for Health and Fitness are what is to be expected, highly competitive and it is a YMYL niche. Proper credentials and experience make the bar for entry a little higher than most other niches.
While the medicine and physical training may be taken, you can still carve out a corner of this profitable niche for yourself. A few sub-niches include running, swimming, healthy eating, and home remedies.

Everyone loves to travel, and most people who do have had the same thought you are having right now, “if I’m already traveling, why not document it and make some money?”
The Travel niche is competitive for a reason, people love to travel and share their experiences. Don’t believe me? Go check out your Facebook friend’s pictures. I’m going to guess there are at least a few pictures from the beach there. Everyone loves to travel, some document it on Facebook and others turn their vacations into a blog.
There is a long list of pros for the Travel niche. If you’re a frequent traveller, you’ve basically got it made in the shade. A steady stream of new content on each trip! Being a frequent traveller, your affiliate programs would be products and services you use regularly. Airlines, hotels, rental car services, and even travel products and gear! Endless opportunities for affiliate marketing in this niche! The constant traveling and interacting with other business is what makes this one of the most profitable blog niches!
The Travel niche also has the potential to do very well with a YouTube channel. If you are comfortable being on camera, creating a few vlogs on each trip will go a long way. Professors and Teachers now have the option to not only teach for their universities and high schools, but they can also share their knowledge through online learning platforms like Coursera. Courses vary in price, but students are able to see the rating of the course and read reviews of previous students to know if the course is legitimate.
Whether you are looking for a certification in your field or looking to jump into a new career field, online Education can help you out. If you need to keep your 9 to 5 while earning your Bachelor’s, that is now possible with online Education. Most universities now offer graduate degrees online as well. Education has changed with technology and it is for the best.
Creating a blog in the Education niche is a great way to promote your courses. If you are an English teacher, start a blog on Composition and Writing and create content centered around those topics. After posting a few blog posts, share links to your courses to start earning some income!

Another niche that saw rapid growth during the pandemic was the Home Improvement niche, but specifically the Do-It-Yourself niche. With the prices of everything going up, DIY is going to be a rapidly growing niche.
The best part about the Home Improvement and DIY niche is that it is so big. People are creating blogs on everyday items just laying around the house. Whether it is creating a useful tool from scratch or refurbishing your sofa, there is something for everyone in the DIY niche.
With this niche being so big, you can find an underserved niche and jump right in. The only recommendation I have for this niche is that you actually do what you are writing about. People in the DIY niche will be able to tell if you are actually doing what you are writing about by the way you word things. There will be some lingo to pick up on and certain things you will need to learn.
The best topics to write on will be the steps in the creation process that stump you. If a certain step and stumped you, chances are it has stumped someone else too! Don’t be afraid to share the roadblock you hit, your audience will appreciate it and come back to you when they have problems in the future.
